Fill your heart, Feed your Soul, Give to Your Community is the heartfelt creation of Matthew McPherson, Chef/Owner of Matt’s Red Rooster Grill in Flemington, NJ. Mr. McPherson has enjoyed phenomenal success in the three short years that he has been in business. At a celebration where Mr. McPherson received an award for Leadership Excellence from the Flemington Raritan Business Owners Association, Matt spoke of the success of the restaurant and thanked his family, friends and the community. He also spoke of the desire to give back.
As Matt’s Red Rooster Grill celebrated its third anniversary, Matt made an extraordinary gesture of kindness, commitment and a call to the community to support local services that provide care and comfort to our families and our neighbors. Every Monday during the month of June, Matt’s Red Rooster Grill will open its doors for four special dinners that will support the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center and two significant programs in which they rely on to provide special services to cancer patients and their families – The Wellness Community and The Paul R. Nardoni Foundation.
The first and fourth Mondays in June will benefit The Wellness Community. Founded in 1982, “The Wellness Community is an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing free support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. Through participation in professionally-led support groups, educational workshops, nutrition and exercise programs, and stress-reduction classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation, and restore hope regardless of the stage of their disease.”
The second Monday in June will be benefiting the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center,”where world-class diagnosis, treatment and prevention services are encompassed in a comprehensive close-to-home facility for residents in Hunterdon County and surrounding areas”. The Cancer Center focuses on “quality care, close to home”.
The third Monday in June will benefit the Paul R. Nardoni Foundation. The PRN Foundation’s mission statement is "To provide comfort and aid to cancer patients and their families". The foundation gives support to cancer patients and their families by providing them with creature comforts and beyond during their stays in hospitals. From comfortable sleeping chairs to DVD’s the foundation brings generosity and hope to families during very trying times. The PRN Foundation also contributes funds to the Hunterdon Hospice, because of their extraordinary efforts to provide comfort to patients and their families during a very difficult time.
Each special dinner will have its own distinct menu and theme.
