Dear Family and Friends,
I’m taking my pitch for cancer support on the road -- all the way to Sara’s birthplace in California.
Thanks to your incredible love and generosity, I’ve endured the loneliest, scariest, and most painful trial in my life. I’m still haunted by our trips to the radiation room, risky trials with chemotherapy, endless doctor visits and terrible side effects. We were fortunate, however, to receive counseling, education, yoga, meditation and the support of professionals outside of the medical world who greatly enhanced our quality of life.
Many friends acknowledged how important it was for them to help out. To extend such invaluable care and services to others I am walking in the STRIDES FOR HOPE marathon, sponsored by the Wellness Community of Bedminster, N.J. in Big Sur, California on April 27th.
Some of you know the powerful spiritual connection I have with Big Sur, so near to Sara’s birthplace and where I scattered her ashes two years ago. On April 27th, I am walking in honor of Sara’s courage and loving spirit.
My goal is to receive pledges of support totaling a minimum of $3,000 by April. I am walking with my friend Penny Williams, a six-time survivor of breast cancer, a woman of phenomenal strength and an inspiration to those of us who have hit the wall, so to speak. She volunteers at the Wellness Community and raves about the support and care she receives from its FREE programs. Join me in this cause by simply clicking on this link to make your tax-deductible donation securely online. And please be sure to list my name in the sponsorship box prior to submitting payment. Alternately, you can send sponsorships via check payable to TWC-CNJ, noting my name as the participant. Checks can be sent to The Wellness Community of Central New Jersey, 3 Crossroads Dr., Bedminster, NJ 07921.
I’ve been lucky to be surrounded by beautiful people like you who walk this journey with me. Together we can make life more manageable for friends and family diagnosed with cancer.
Thank you in advance for your generosity toward the Wellness Community and me.
Karen
