Ask The Doctor: Everything You Wanted To Know About Diagnostic Imaging Procedures Monday, January 11, 7 - 8.30 pm Gueat Speaker: Steven Honickman, MD Associated Radiologists, PA Many people wonder about the differences between CT, MRI, XRay, ultrasound, PET or bone scans and why one test may be recommended over another. Others may have concerns about whether additional risks exists due to repeated exposure to various tests. Stress Management for the New Year Thursday, January 14, 1:30 - 3 pm Please join guest speaker Jean Marie Rosone, LCSW, Coordinator of Intergrative Oncology from the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital, for this very special presentation. Start off your new year with a new perspective. This workshop will include mind body stress reduction techniques to help you stay peaceful throughout the coming year. Ask The Nurse Wednesday, January 20, 1-2 pm Melanie Harrow, RN from Memorial Sloan Kettering at Basking Ridge, will lead this discussion focusing on ways to manage treatment side-effects. Hot flashes, joint pain, neuropathy, low blood counts, chemo-brain or fatigue are commonly reported symptoms experienced by those going through cancer treatment. Bring your questions and learn ways to manage these symptoms to improve your quality of life during and after treatment. Aromatheraphy Workshop Wednesday, February 10, 11 am-12:30 pm Life can be hectic.... and maintaining balance of our emotional and physical well-being can be an ongoing challenge. Essential oils are known to address anxiety, fatigue and to calm and soothe the mind. Join mind/body instructor Marion Gaydos for this workshop on essential oils. We will explore how oils can support the body and help balance the emotions. LYMPHOMA Living Life With Lymphoma- Survivor Network Thursday, February 11, 7-8 pm Please join us for an informal reception to share or just listen to the experiences of other local lymphoma survivors. This program is offered in collaboration with the Lymphoma Research Foundation-New Jersey Chapter. Spirituality and Wholeness Thursday, February 25, 6:30-8:30 pm Come nurture your soul. In a peaceful environment, you are invited to participate in various spiritual exercises using art, media, writing, reflecting, meditation and music. Join TWC staff to gently restore the inner spirit. CAREing and COPEing Monday, March 1-22, 6-8 pm This exciting new 4-week series is for women with breast cancer and a caregiver she identifies. The goal of this program is to improve communication and problem solving related to the cancer experience. Pre-registeration is required. This program is made possible by a grant from Breast Cancer Fund of National Philanthropic Trust.

Healthy Cooking Healthy Cooking Programs at TWC offer an opportunity for participants to connect to the essence of healthy food and good cooking that can support recovery and wellness. Local chefs offer techniques on preparing dishes that will nourish the body and satisfy taste buds both during and after treatment. Cooking From Scratch Wednesday, January 13, Noon-1:30 pm Join Personal Chef Joseph Cummings of "Helping Hand Concierge", LLC. He will be discussing "Cooking From Scratch" which will include a quick overview of why it is important to cook this way and a demonstration of one of his favorite dishes. Generous tastings of the recipe will be included. Healthy Recipes and Expert Tips Thursday, February 18, 12:30-2 pm Join Andrew Pantano, Executive Chef/Proprieter of Culinary Catering (and local TV cooking host!) for a presentation of healthy recipes and expert cooking tips. Lunch will be provided. Nutrition Nutrition Programs focus on a variety of topics for adults with cancer and their loved ones who want to learn to eat wisely during and after treatment. Time is allowed for any nutrition-related questions during every session. ManagingYour Digestive Health Monday, January 25, 2-3 pm Join Nicole Schaldone, RD, a specialist in both oncology and gastroenterology nutrition. Going through cancer treatment can often disrupt the delicate balance of your digestive system. Nicole will discuss the role probiotics play in maintaining a healthy digestive tract and offer tips on how to modify your diet in order to "get and stay regular" during and after treatment. Chocolate.... A Healthy Treat? Wednesday, February 10, 1-2 pm Celebrate American Heart Month! Mary Giselle Ulbrich, MS, RD, Out-Patient Oncology Dietitian, Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, Morristown Memorial Hospital, will talk about the health benefits of chocolate and how to incorporate it into healthy diet. Come and get a few recipes for Valentine's Day!
