The Wellness Community Support Group Programs
Newcomer's Group:
Find out how we can help you in your journey with cancer by attending a Newcomer's Group on Tuesdays. (Time alternates between 11 am one week and 6pm the next. See program calendar page for dates and times.) Meet our Program Director, tour our home and learn what education, companionship, support and hope mean at The Wellness Community of Central NJ.
Participant Groups:
We provide weekly support groups facilitated by licensed and experienced psychotherapists. These groups offer a safe place to share thoughts, feelings and information. People with cancer meet with others diagnosed with cancer; family members and friends meet with others who are caring for a person with cancer. Together, people on the same journey experience caring, understanding and support. They are able to explore new ways to deal with the stress that cancer often brings. Caregiver Groups:
Ongoing bi-weekly support groups facilitated by licensed psychotherapists to help family members or significant others learn how to care for themselves while supporting the person with cancer.
Bereavement Group:
A weekly group for people who have experienced a recent death of a loved one from cancer.
Offered in the spring and fall on Tuesday evenings. Call for details
Networking Groups:
These monthly groups provide an opportunity for individuals with similar cancer diagnoses or life circumstances to discuss and exchange information. These "drop in" meetings do not require a pre-registration.
