Our National Organization

The National organization was officially formed in 1989 to facilitate expansion outside California. In 1997, the National headquarters moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. A new Board of Directors was formed that reflected more national representation and a new CEO was hired. In 2002, the National headquarters relocated to Washington, DC and The Wellness Community celebrated its 20th Anniversary. The national staff is leading The Wellness Community well into the future.

In order to accomplish our vision, The Wellness Community-National is committed to:

  • Expanding public and professional awareness of The Wellness Community programs.
  • Strengthening existing facilities and developing new ones.
  • Providing state-of-the-art, evidence-based programs that are responsive to the needs of patients and families.
  • Participating in psychosocial research in order to evaluate our services and contribute to the greater professional body of knowledge about cancer and psychosocial support.
