Spokes for Hope - October 4, 2008
Thank you to all who rode and raised money for "Spokes for Hope". We had PERFECT bike riding weather on Saturday, October 4th and everyone had a terrific day out in the sunshine raising money for people affected by cancer.
A HUGE thank you goes to our Board Chair Gary Weiner, Board member John D'Esposito, and great friend of The Wellness Community Wendy Weiner for organizing such a terrific event. And, a SPECIAL thank you to Louie Linguini for cooking us all a terrific HOT lunch after our ride!!!
We had just under 150 riders and raised approximately $17,000! A tremendous success on all levels!
Look for "Spokes for Hope" next year, as we continue to make this THE ride for people affected by cancer in our area.

Ride your bike for people affected by cancer
3 scenic rides to choose from:
- METRIC CENTURY
8:00 am start: Long Branch start, inland to the Manasquan Reservoir, back along the coast (62.5 miles)
- METRIC 1/2 CENTURY
8:30 am start: Long Branch to Sea Girt along the coast and back (31 miles)
- METRIC 1/4 CENTURY
9:00 am start: Long Branch to Bradley Beach along the coast and back (16 miles)
All rides start and end in Pier Village, Long Branch, NJ
Food provided before/after rides
Fully supported
Rest stops are frequent and fully stocked with water and snacks
T-shirt and goodie bag pick-up begins 7:00 a.m. morning of ride (HELMETS REQUIRED)
PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive a t-shirt and a goodie bag, all money is due by 9/26/08.
