The Wellness Community’s Programs of Support, Education, and Hope

Programs

The Wellness Community is dedicated to providing people affected by cancer and their loved ones the “Gold Standard” in psychosocial programming. We focus on programs that will enable people with a cancer diagnosis to live fully with cancer and beyond. Through participation in professionally led programs that utilize the Patient Active Concept, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation, and restore hope.

Our programs are free of charge and are designed as a complement, not an alternative, to conventional medical care. Each individual chooses what activities to attend and when to attend each activity. Our programs are open to "people affected by cancer", which includes the person with cancer, their family members, caregivers, and friends.

Our community approach to our programs means that you do not have to be alone. Being with others helps to promote feelings of hope and well being, regardless of the stage of one’s disease.

Participants in Wellness Community Support Groups Report:

  • Stress Level Improved = 79%
  • Feelings of Isolation Improved = 91%
  • Quality of Life Improved = 79%
  • Feelings of Control Improved = 87%
  • Feelings of Hope Improved = 84%

PLEASE CALL TO REGISTER FOR ALL PROGRAMS. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IN THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN PROGRAMS MAY BE CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER. (732) 578-9200
