Social and Emotional Concerns

When diagnosed with cancer, a patient experiences a variety of emotional responses. What will happen to my relationships? How will my children cope? How will I manage?

As important as treating the cancer, similarly, it is necessary for a patient to manage his or her emotional health. The two are intertwined.

In this section, we will address topics such as distress and the emotional impact of cancer, dealing with stress, depression and anxiety, getting the support you need, relationships, intimacy and spirituality.

Below, you will also find important information on issues such as career, finances and employment and how treating cancer may impact them.

At The Cancer Support Community we strive to assist you in answering all questions great and small.  We understand the complications and the changes in lifestyle that accompany a cancer diagnosis.  Always feel free to contact us for further information.
