Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer
Frankly Speaking About Colorectal Cancer is a new, national patient education program developed by The Wellness Community and the Colorectal Cancer Coalition (C3). The program provides support, education and hope to people affected by colorectal cancer and their loved ones. In the workshop and companion booklet, you will learn about the most current colorectal treatments, symptom/side-effect management strategies, the social and emotional challenges of the diagnosis and survivorship issues specific to people with colorectal cancer. The purpose of this program is to give you the tools and confidence you need to be able to discuss colorectal cancer with your healthcare providers as well as friends and family so you can get the care you need and deserve.

Live Well! Life Beyond Cancer
This program, presented through a partnership between The Wellness Community and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, is focused on helping cancer survivors make the transition from active treatment to post-treatment care. The program provides information, skills and tools to address exercise, nutrition, emotional health, quality of life and medical management after treatment ends. Workshop participants will meet for two and one-half hours once a week for six weeks.

The Patient Active Guide to Living with Advanced Breast Cancer
This program will focus on the needs of women newly diagnosed with advanced (metastatic) breast cancer, and also includes information relevant to women who have lived 2 - 5 years with metastatic breast cancer. Clear, comprehensive and unbiased information is provided on the latest treatments, side effect management and survivorship issues and concerns for women newly diagnosed with metastatic disease, in order to empower them to be active participants in their cancer journey. The Wellness Community's Patient Active approach is used as a framework for partnering with a patient's healthcare team to make critical long-term decisions about treatment and quality of life. This program is provided through an unrestricted educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline Oncology.

Frankly Speaking About New Discoveries in Cancer
This program includes an educational workshop and a comprehensive kit designed to explore the most current clinical and psychosocial information available in cancer treatment. Expert workshop presenters will plainly describe the many innovative treatments in practice and in development, and also provide strategies for managing side effects. State-of-the-art empowerment and stress reduction techniques that help participants build and optimize a trusting partnership with their healthcare team will also be discussed. This program is provided through an unrestricted educational grant from Genentech.

Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer: Stepping Back to Take a Closer Look
This program includes an educational workshop and a comprehensive patient education booklet that provide information on state-of-the-art treatment options as well as many of the issues, concerns and questions people with lung cancer might have after a diagnosis. Leading experts in oncology will present on diagnosis, staging, and various treatment options. Information will also be presented on various side effects of cancer treatment and ways to manage them and improve quality of life for cancer patients and survivors. This program serves to empower people affected by lung cancer to take a more active role in treatment decisions and their well-being. This program is made possible by an unrestricted educational grant from Astra Zeneca, GlaxoSmithKline Oncology, and Lilly.
