The Wellness Community-Southern Connecticut, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, free of charge, to people affected by cancer, their families, and their caregivers.
| Our #1 priority is to open the doors of our own home-like, community-based center, where people of all ages and backgrounds affected by cancer, at any stage, can actively participate in our programs. |
In Connecticut, an estimated 19,780 people were diagnosed with cancer in 2007 — a 14% increase over 2006. As survivor rates continue to increase, and more people are living with cancer, patients and their families are in need of services that can be offered by a local Wellness Community.
In conjunction with local area hospitals, we are already sponsoring several joint educational programs. We are looking forward to partnering with other hospitals and support groups around the state to provide these award winning programs.
The Wellness Community services are available to all in the community, free of charge and regardless of background. Help us bring this internationally-recognized program to our own Connecticut community!
